When Marmalade joined CrossFurr, she could travel no further than the cushion beside her food bowl. Today she can visit five rooms in a single afternoon. This is her story.
Week One: The Foundations
Coach Tuna set an achievable goal: reach the kitchen. Marmalade did so with enthusiasm, then sat down, looked at the wall, and refused to leave. Progress was recorded as satisfactory.
Week Three: The Living Room Breakthrough
By the third week, Marmalade was cruising from the sofa to the window with confidence. She began to experiment with leaps, including a bold jump onto an armchair that she later described as a mistake.
Week Six: The Bedroom Campaign
A major milestone. Marmalade entered the bedroom unaided, climbed the duvet, and sat on a human at 6 AM. The coaching team called this a perfect execution of the Wake Up Drill.
- Bathroom: reached in week eight, only to inspect the tub
- Hallway: cleared nightly, at speed
- Spare room: still avoided, owing to a suitcase
- Kitchen: conquered daily
The Result
Marmalade now completes a full circuit of her apartment in under four minutes. She credits her success to discipline, support, and a rumour about chicken.
Advice for Others
“Start small,” Marmalade told us, or perhaps she simply meowed. “Pick a room. Stand in it. Decide if you like it. Move on.” We found this inspiring.
If you would like to begin your own journey, visit the front desk and sit on the sign up sheet. We will do the rest.
Where Is Marmalade Now?
Marmalade has now joined our Advanced Roaming group. She has set her sights on the cellar, which she has not yet entered, and the garden, which she describes as theoretical. Coach Tuna says she has real potential.
We are delighted to have played a small part in her story and look forward to many more circuits.
